Out of 5 losses, two losses came when he was already in the early stages of parkinsons, in the other 3 he lost against 1 he won again in the rematch.. So that sums up to only 2 man in his entire career defeated him in his good condition

You gotta take into account opponents. Ali fought a whose who of great fighters. Modern heavyweights just aren’t like older fighters. You cannot put Klitschko in the same realm as Ali. Not even close. Ali was the greatest because he would’ve beaten every other Heavyweight champion in history purely because he fought with speed of a lightweight, was almost impossible to hit clean, had a great chin when he was hit and could punch harder than given credit for, but also had a near genius ring I.Q. He did things that no fighter before him did, especially for a heavyweight. NOONE thought he would beat Foreman. People actually thought Ali would be killed or badly hurt. Yet he made it look easy. That has to be the greatest win in the history of boxing. Joe Louis is a legend and was an incredible fighter but I think he was too flat footed and robotic foot Ali. And Ali was one of the first BIG heavyweights too. I laugh when people say Tyson could’ve taken Ali. That wouldn’t even be competitive.

Ali never lost pre exile, was never challenged in 10 championship fights. His speed@ defense made him completely unhittable. You can say he was never, staggered, stunned, even hurt or barely hit during those 10 fights. Also he improved and was most definitely robbed of his prime. In 1971 the supreme court exonerated himand said " sorry", now you can fight. He was just so dominant. Like him or not seeing is believing. Just too fast, too much endurance, blinding hand speed, super-superior skill set. Power increasing. Defense best of all time with that speed. I respect all opinions, but from Liston to Folley this guy was the greatest.

Ali even without his prime years achieved so much in boxing

Ali was the greatest in terms of his in ring and out of ring performance. He made a mark on the world that is transcendent.
But in terms of boxing, there are too many to list. One brilliant but underrated boxer was Emanuel Augustus.
Then there's Salvador Sanchez.
Sugar Ray Robinson and Leonard.
And my personal favorite, Thomas Hearns ( 6 time champ )

Ali was the greatest because he fought the greatest competition . Wlad Klitschko was knocked out 4 times ? Rocky Marciano was 185lbs not even a heavyweight fought former welterweight, middleweight, light heavyweights bums and old men retired age 32 way to early he's not the greatest ? Holyfield lost 10 x and was knocked out 2x he's not the greatest ? Joe louis fought the bum of the month club he had the most title defenses yes 27 but if you include the NABF title Ali was in 35 title fights ? Plus Ali was striped of his title and his prime for 3 and a half years so he would have easily beaten Louis record if he wasn't . Ali is the greatest not only for the competition he fought but he would have beaten Wlad Klitschko, Rocky Marciano, Evander Holyfield and YES Joe Louis all in a fight . Ali 1964-1967 would have beaten all heavyweights so your wrong Ali is the GREATEST !

George Foreman was the link between generations of boxers. Foreman was only KO’d one time in his career and that one time was by Ali. Holyfield, Morrison, Briggs and Moorer failed in their attempts to put the man down in old age. This in and of itself tells you how good Ali was.

Ali was an entertainer and a black leader during a time of racial unrest. What he had transcends his boxing record.

Look who he lost to and how he loss.

Md. Ali vs Frazier (Legend and one of the G.O.A.T)
- Not by KO
- Beat him later

Md. Ali vs Norten (Legend)
- Not by KO
- Beat him later

Md. Ali vs Leon Spinks (Oylmpic Gold Medalist (1976 Montreal)-Light heavyweight)
- Not by KO
- Beat him later

Md. Ali vs Larry Holmes (Legend and one of the G.O.A.T)
- Retired By Corner
- Age - 38 years 259 days
- Early sign of Parkinson

Md. Ali vs Trevor Berbick
- Not by KO
- Age - 39 years 328 days
- Early sign of Parkinson

* It is not just about his loss but how he loss and what these losses reflected.
1. Four out of Five where either one of the G.O.A.Ts or Oylmpic Gold Medalist.
2. His chin and Will power : he was never K.O clean and his will power, even in bad days is legendary.
3. Courage, confidence and true self believes to conquer losses.
4. Only two boxer defeated him and not got defeated.
One is also a legend and argubable for G.O.A.T.
Considering Ali's age and health (Parkinson) I would say that
he has done more then any one would expect him to.
Even if he would have got KO in his lost two fight, it would have not
effected his resume much considering his age and health. But he fought
and not got KO. Think.

Truely a G.O.A.T.

Marciano beat Walcott, Charles, Louis and Moore. Moore was a light heavyweight and 42 years old. All the names I mentioned were an average of 38 years old. So he beat a few geriatric people. Big deal. Ali had a 12 inch reach advantage, 5 inches in height and 30 pounds in weight. He was 3 times faster than Marciano! Please! The science fiction movie they did in 1968 was a joke. Ali needed the money. Did you see what Max Shmeling did to Louis when Shmeling was young? He wiped the floor with Louis. That's what Ali would have done to Louis as well.
