Can you have a wheat flour mother and use it for a rye loaf or does it need to be a wheat loaf? I.e. does the flour type of the mother need to match up with the loaf type?

Go to a real Baker, ask for a little of their (proven that it works) mother, ones... then you can you feed it on for ever! I have mine for more than 25 years...
