Iran begins funeral rites for President Ebrahim Raisi after crash | BBC News

Funeral rites for Iran's president and seven others who died in a helicopter crash on Sunday have begun.

Thousands of people have taken to the streets to mourn President Raisi.

The first ceremony is taking place in Tabriz in the country's north-west, the region where the crash happened.

But not everyone supported him - and many Iranians celebrated his death on social media.

I suggest you correct your title on the event. It is not the Iran begining the funeral rite. A handful of humans picked up from the rurals, brought to the place by public busses, and paid to take part in muorning are not the Iran. Regime undertakes every possibility to warm up the ceremony.
