Four teachers in 3 years of highschool couldnt get this gibberish through to me and yet somehow in under 10 minutes you had me converting fractions like it was nothing. I don't understand how this was EVER so hard for me now!

I know this is 2018 but for my vacation homework packet I got 50 pages to do of just math! This keeps on helping when people can forget what you learned. Thank you and happy New Year, 2019 coming soon...

3:34 in this part finding lcd of the denominators is time consuming, if you're running out of time comparing put the fraction down then cross multiply you'll have the same result and less hussle.

Another way to look at 4/9 and 5/7 is to compare them to 1/2.
Half of 9 is 4½, and 4 is less than 4½, so 4/9 is less than 1/2.
Half of 7 is 3½, and 5 is greater than 3½, so 5/7 is greater than 1/2.
So 4/9 is less than 1/2 which is less than 5/7.

All examples here are with higher numerator than denominator. What if we have the opposite?

so basically to compare Improper fractions and mixed numbers you turn the improper fraction into a mixed number then whatever one has the bigger mixed number is the correct answer? But if they have the same mixed numbers you look at the denominators? and if they have the same denominators, whatever numerator is bigger is the bigger?
