As a Dane I have to say that this is grotesque. I have come to the conclusion that the main problem in the US isn't as much ignorance and stupidity, as it is a level of emotional intelligence in a big chunk of the population that is below average. Narcissism and even psychopathy seem to be more widespread than in other countries, perhaps because of extreme individualism, religious fundamentalism and the lack of collectivism. It's more complex than this, I realise, but something is really rotten in this nations culture. Man, I empathize with all those wonderful, sane, democracy-loving Americans that I know are out there...

The funniest part about the threat to seize the Panama Canal -- tbh, if the USA invaded there is not much to stop them from taking over -- is that, even if they had military control of it, all it takes is one ship passing through a critical junction and being sunk or blown up and suddenly the canal is useless. I am sure the Panamanians would be constantly sabotaging it and creating a shipping disaster, for the US especially, and continuing to do so until the US leaves. It would be a disaster for the US and world economy.
