Preofessional tile installer here and I use this grout on every project I can get away with using it on. The amount of wiping and time I spend cleaning this grout up blows all other grout out of the water. The only thing with this grout is you gotta make sure you do your cleaning wipes way sooner then you would traditional grouts.

Just want to say that this product is great. I just finished tiling my shower and used the flexcolor cq silver against a white ceramic subway tile. For being my first time grouting, it came out awesome because of the work-ability and ease of cleaning after its laid down. Not that I can compare against other brands as I've never grouted before, but am satisfied with the product itself. I do have to comment that even though the installation instructions say to wait 8-10 minutes to wipe off, I didn't follow this. I ended up wiping off the product immediately after I laid down a small section equivalent to the size in this video. There is no need to let this product sit on the face of the tile. It doesn't belong on the face of the tile, so why let it sit there and chance it drying too much. The longer it sits on the face, the harder it will get over time and more difficult to remove. Take my word for it and do small sections at a time. Apply grout to the small section, and remove immediately after. The sponge won't touch the grout in the grooves anyway while your cleaning the face of the tile, so it won't mess up the lines in the grout as you clean. Also change out the bucket of water frequently as stated int he instructions as the water gets hazy from the cleaning. I also suggest putting down blankets and covering up your tub as the product is messy putting it on vertical walls. Overall though, great product. Will definitely use it again for another project.

I don’t understand all these negative comments. Read the instructions and it is amazing. Cleans nicely, NO haze. Clean as you go. Work in small areas. Used with ceramic and glass tile. Absolutely fantastic.

Reading the comments on various videos it seems that the ones who have the most complaints about Flexcolor CQ are more experienced grouters. The first-timers seem to consistently love the stuff. Maybe those with more experience tend to treat it like regular grout whereas DIYers focus on the instructions?

I used tis do do my Kitchen Back Splash --- The tiles were put in place using a sticky backing - it was an area of 12" x 4' -- and using this technique - and this was my 1st tile job --- I was done in 2.5 hrs with everything ... Don't be scared to use this ... I did a 2x2 section at a time... and started cleaning after each section was grouted ... then, when it was totally complete - I went back to start a final cleaning from where I started .... I had a stone/glass mixed of tile.... in n no time the whole project was complete ... tile backing in the kitchen looks great!!! The whole project turned out alot better than if I hired someone. Use this product.

Ok so I watched the videos and read the comments and concerns with this product together with my fiancé. We are tractors and neither of us have laid and grouted tile in or combined 25 years experience . With that said she grouted the tile in our home by herself flawlessly no haze or issues.

Cleaning Flexcolor its really hard compared to traditional Grouts. It leaves a residue that is really hard to get rid of, and trust me, i know how to grout..

Let me tell y'all something....I don't know what they did to make this CQ grout clean up so easily, but it does not work that way. I wouldn't DARE wait 8 min before "attempting" to clean CQ grout. If you wait more than 2 min, it will already be dry on the surface of the tile. Ever tried cleaning epoxy residue??? It sucks! Use Excel grout from The Tile Shop. Who cares if you have to mix a little grout! It takes a lot less time to mix a little grout than clean up the mess that this CQ grout leaves behind! Show us this same demonstration on a shiny tile like marble. Then show us an angle view so everyone can see the crappy epoxy residue left behind. I dare you to wait 8 min before cleaning it up too!

i have used various other types of grout ( as a home owner) I just used this for my shower tile and it's absolutely THE WORST stuff I've used.. I've watched videos, read instructions everything was fine. I thought this will be easy.. Hardest grout job i've ever done and looks absolutely NOTHING like the consistency in this video.. it was just clumpy and falling off all over the place wouldn't stick to nothing.. Eventually I added few drops of water in the mix ( even though comment section reply on previous post said not to ) it was my only resort. It helped only slightly. I without a doubt will never use this product again and really question the " hype " behind Mapei.. Maybe I just got a bad batch of a new mix or something but Not something I want to deal with when i'm finishing out a job in my house!

I loved the results on my kitchen floor, but litterally you need to clean after like 2min. I would clean after 3min, and I still have some haze I need to remove... the acid cleaners don't work either, I'm about to go buy the mapei specific haze remover for it.

It's a good product but probably better for highly experienced contractors.

Had a client insist I use this product on their shower...thankfully I have worked with Fusion Pro (which also sucks), so it wasn't a disaster, but wouldn't ever use it on any of my other jobs. I liken it to sanded paint as it has no body to it and doesn't add any strength to the installation (as Prism and Power Grout do). The funniest part was the client selected white (as she was told it was a true white by the salesman at the tile store, and she was adamant against using Prism Bright White because she though it would be too yellow), The "White" Flexcolor dried with a nice yellow hue.

I just used this for tiling a bathroom shower/tub area and the consistency is a 180 from that shown in the video.

I recently, also, laid tile and used the Ultracolor Plus FA grout (not premixed) and the consistency is like what is shown in the video. I was able to actually get it into the grout lines.

I would get the grout on my float, try spreading it, and it would just all fall off. It was like wet sand; nothing like the Ultracolor Plus FA grout.

I should also mention there’s a pretty strong smell to it, which I wasn’t expecting. To add, the sponge that came with the grout was completely soaked with a liquid that was sitting on the top of the grout, even though it was wrapped in plastic packaging.

I love our flooring grout; looks great! I do not like look of the bathroom grout. Thankfully, we’re selling this house so it’s not my problem much longer.

My first tile job on a kitchen 15x7 with big format tiles came out nice very Esau to used and was my first time, I’m doing anther tile job on a bigger kitchen and living room, and I’m looking for any reviews on how well does on the stains. Any ideas on something you that I can used like a sealer to make it maintain the color longer ?

Just finished using this grout and the glue haze just won't come off. I've used this multiple times and it's never been easy to use. Now I have to buy a chemical haze remover to finish. Would never recommend this product. In fact, I wouldn't recommend any pre mixed grout. Especially this one.

I've tried this product on 4 different floor installs. I cannot get rid of the grout residue on certain spots of the tile. What's the secret. I rinsed the floor 4 times with clean water after the grout application. Working in a 3x3 sq ft area at a time.

My experience over last week was the opposite of the demonstration. My flex grout had a very thick consistency. Maybe I had a bad batch?

I am looking for a true black un-sanded grout my glass tile. Brand X grout is a darker color of black. I like it better only from that perspective. Does Mapei have a true black color?

I noticed the consistency of the CQ grout in this video is fairly fluid. I watched another recently released video of a tile installer using CQ. I noticed the consistency was at least twice as thick and much harder to spread. The product was brand new. In this situation, can CQ be thinned at all?
