Even though she's not a singer, she pulls it off.

If you had to pick one performer, performing one particular song at one moment in history, this is the perfect example. A small little sample of why for a brief moment in our past we all came together and literally worked together and saved the world. Quite a difference when you look at the events of today.

Bette Davis was 35 in 1943. Seeing her get tossed around at 3:45 is hilarious.

Bette actually hurt her leg badly during this scene. The young guy who danced with her was a huge fan and was terrified to swing his idol in the air plus Bette hated the swinging part and told him to just forget that she’s Bette Davis and get it over with. She ended up finishing the scene in one take and refused to do it again♥️😁✨

When she was asked to do a retake of her jitterbug, Bette Davis said one time was enough.

Miss Bette is so fantastic and stupendous - there is nothing that she cannot do
Otherworldly 💫💫

Bette's great feat was her talent as a film actress' triumph over her modest talents in most other ways.  She couldn't sing, so she DIDN'T sing, she merely scatted and acted it.  Brilliant.

My parents were from that era and it always fascinated me. Even though the world was at war the Country and people pulled together worked hard tried hard and did everything they could. We simply lost all that.
