Well... after a week of trying to get mama turned around, her ketone levels ended up going up instead of down. Not good.
I texted my vet, and we made some hard decisions... in the end, I did an emergency c-section and was able to pull out THREE live lambs!!

Now... lamb preemies are work. Their little lungs are not fully developed, and it can take a while to get them to eat enough to keep them going.
...but we tried.

My auntie has sheep on her farm and only just finished lambing season on Wednesday! 90 lambs!
One of the lambs lost their mum... It was very unexpected. 😔 Lucky a different mum (Mildred) took on the lamb as her own. She did already have two lambs but she happily adopted them. The little boy Mildred adopted is getting bottle fed.
There are six lambs that get bottle fed, various reasons, but they are not reluctant at all especially the number 8s'! They are so eager!
