My theory is the real reason is phycological and not physical (I think reasons listed were just jokes) because Meg is abused and neglected by her family having a warm hat on her head gives her a sense of comfort and security. Though knowing family guy I doubt the show would admit this. Or maybe she just likes wearing a hat

Another one is that Peter accidentally hit both Meg and Chris’s head when they were a kid. It was revealed in a episode where Meg and Chris accidentally hit Stewie in the head

Reasons 1 and 2 maybe connected with the heart on her head then slowly turning into a blood pumping arm that hates light and it transformed because she almost never takes it off trapping the heart in that heat slowly turning into the arm.
