Here are a couple more stats:

Swimming - 50 metres freestyle (Long Course)
Men - 20.91
Women - 23.67
13.2%

50 metres freestyle (Short Course)
Men - 20.16

Women - 22.93
13.74%

100 metres freestyle
Men (World Record) - 46.96
Women (Olympic Record) - 51.96 (I've chosen the OR 'cause the WR is slower).
10.65%

1500 metres freestyle (Long Course)
Men - 14:31.02
Women - 15:20.48
5.67%

1500 metres freestyle (Short Course)
Men - 14:08.06
Women - 15:18.01
8.24%

Javelin throw
Men (WR) - 98, 48
Women (WR) - 72, 28
26.6%

Men (OR) - 90, 57
Women (OR) - 71, 53
21%

The length of the javelin is 260-270cm in the men's category and 220-230cm in the female category, and, for categories from 18 years, a minimum weight of 800 grams for men and 600 grams for women.

Shot put
Men (WR) - 23, 37
Women (WR) - 22, 63
3.16%

Men (OR) - 23, 30
Women (OR) - 22, 41
3.82%

The weight of the bullet is 7.26kg for men and 4kg for women.
This weight can vary according to the age of the practitioners; 6kg are thrown in the male youth category and 4kg in the female youth category, 5kg are thrown in the male minor category and 3kg in the female minor category.

Disc throw
Men (WR) - 74, 08
Women (WR) - 76, 89
3.79% in favour of women

Men (OR) - 69, 89
Women (OR) - 72, 30
3.44% in favour of women

In this last case is worth nothing the following:
In men's competition, the disc measures between 219 and 221mm in diameter, between 44 and 46mm wide and weighs 2 kilograms.

In the female branch, the disc measures between 180 and 182mm in diameter, 37 to 39mm wide and weighs 1 kilogram.

Yes, a 9-12 percent difference seems small, but the difference between gold and 6th place at Tokyo was 1.8 percent.
I would love for you to compare the boys records with the Olympic or World women's records. It's pretty eye-opening that the best 16-year-old American boys could break or compete with the World record times for women. And several of those records are suspect as they were set in the 1980s when steroids were abused. Strange that they havent been broken in 35 years...

calling a 1 second gap in 100m a "9% difference" just seems funny. 1 second is an absolute eternity in the 100m.

for perspective, the GREATEST WOMAN OF ALL TIME, running her BEST RACE EVER...wouldn't have even made it past the 1st round of qualifications at this year's men's Olympics.

this is all lower body mainly, now compare upper body dominant sports and see an even bigger difference

I thought that the longer the run, the smaller the difference, but with a 24-hour run, we have a significant gap again (men have a record of 303.506 km, women 259.991, which is a difference of 16.7%).

You can't argue with Biology no matter how much equality we push for. Testosterone gives men that advantage since we produce more than women, we have greater muscle mass and bone density compared to females. That's why athletes who transition from male to female have to medicate to keep Testosterone levels down when competing in female sports but it's still the same because those athletes still dominate despite the medication because their muscles and bones have developed fully male characteristics which is still unfairly advantageous to them.

Unfortunately, many stats are outdated already and there are small inaccuracies too.

The 200m was set by Usain Bolt and people need to realize that 19.19 is not human.

These figures are for top athletes against top athletes. I bet that the gap is even bigger when comparing average people. .

UPDATE: today Ingebrigtsen had a massive +3 seconds improvement in the 3000m, so the difference is now 11.098%

Why do the comments think this has anything to do with gender equality?

Women are doing great. Given equal opportunity they can compete,
If you know history, womens are mostly treated as 2nd class citizens across the civilization, this era gave them opportunity to compete and they are doing fantastic

Why do most people in these comments think they're so smart pointing out the fact males perform better in track & field. We all know.. its biology. There is no need to undermine these women for there results and saying things like "these women wouldn't even qualify for high school meets". And hey I am a guy myself and i respect these athletes they train so hard and they deserve all the fame and glory!
