Weber Genesis Silver B Igniter replacement

Thought I'd share my experience changing the igniter on my 18 year old Weber BBQ. I have another video where I replace the burners. Removing the cover where the controls are would have made that job a lot easier. I purchased the igniter online and it said it was compatible with my specific model and many more. Wow, I wish I had seen this before replacing all the parts on my 20 year Weber grill. I got everything done except for the igniter. I know I was just missing something, and there it was the screws on the side. I spent more time trying to figure that out then it took to replace the igniter. Great video, thanks!!!

Thanks a lot - this video really helped - I happened to have a similar grill and replacement part, however, the previous owner had removed the igniter completely. This video helped to identify how the square part fits in the round hole which was not intuitively obvious. I had to remove the white ceramic igniter itself in order to bend up the tab to lock it in place. Much appreciated!

Ours is from ‘97 - I’ve done this before (in 2019) but your video was a good refresher! I might try the burners next!
