She is elderly and diabetic, so trimming her nails is especially difficult.

Fun fact: diabetics can often get regular nail trims every few weeks at their local podiatrist that are covered by insurance!

When my mother was in assisted living in her 80s and 90s, I arranged for her to have a pedicure and manicure every two weeks. The nail technician would go directly to her room. It’s wasn’t terribly expensive and it made my mother feel better. She also had her hair done every Friday. Why can’t people be more thoughtful with their elderly relatives?

My 99 year old father's toenails on big toes are raised above the cuticle. I have soaked his feet at times in a mixture of apple cider vinegar, Epsom Salt, & warm weather for 20 minutes. It seemed to make a difference. Then I would trim & debride what I could. He won't let me do too much. I bought some big special clippers from Amazon. Your video helped to see what all you did. I wished I could get him in to see you, but he will be 100 on 7/22/23. Plus, he has some dementia & had gone through a period of not eating nor drinking much. Trying to build him up.

It just makes me so happy that someone as kind and sweet as this Dr. is working with these older folks and treats them with the utmost kindness and respect. They deserve that more than anyone! It’s heartbreaking that many old folks that have a lot of people that work on them don’t treat them very well.
