Thank you. This all explain it and make it so intuitive. I don't have to remember the formula because I can do it by hand. And Mathematics is not about remembering but understanding.

Or visually you can also draw a right angled triangle with angle of y, and sides of x, hypotenuse 1 becoz sin y = x/1 and then find the adjacent side using Pythagoras gives sqrt(1-x^2), hence cos y= adj/hypotenuse giving sqrt (1-x^2) as well.

I just want to make sure: the x in cos y x dy/dx = 1 is a multiplication symbol and not an x variable.

I swear if x=1 than it's undefined because 1-1=0
