I was just a little boy when all this was happening, I remember all these headlines, seeing them in the paper, hearing them on the news, and hearing adults, my teachers., talk about them. I didn't really understand them but I knew they were serious. For my 10th birthday my older sister gave me the Meet The Beatles album, their first. It didn't even mean much at the time, I just knew the adults didn't like their hair. I didn't know I was living in the middle of the western world changing into a new and modern age, some of it good, some of it terrifying and not so good. But all in all this song makes me ache inside, it encapsulates my entire child hood in a powerhouse 3 minutes, and to think the members of the Scorpions all the way over in Germany were watching and experiencing the same feelings most of us were having gives me a connection to them. Wow, the past is gone, all those events are long gone, my youth long gone, what a strange journey this is.
