Got there in the end, but then explaining something, whether it be a video or a set of instructions - it is always takes about 5 times longer than the actual task it describes!  Thanks, this was clearly explained and I accomplished what I was hoping to do.

Love it. It turned out great. The commands are a little hard to understand. The composite in PC is shift-control-alt-e.

Im following the exact instructions but my letters always get very light red when I do this 4:10 and also I downloaded the Brushes (Scratch brush) Im not sure if I added them but I placed them in the "Brushes" folder in my Photoshop directory. I have tried almost all brushes and they never instantly scratch the whole text like yours does.

I just tried it with the color Black and Green and it doesn't lighten the text up when I click on the Layer Mask option. What could be going wrong? It's so weird how only Red gets lighter when I click the "Little Camera" at the bottom.

Update: Nevermind. I had placed the scratch brushes in the right folder but it just wasn't loading so I had to go to Brushes > Options > Load Brushes and then I copy and pasted the heavy scratches into window that popped up cause for some reason it didn't show up automatically. Weird, now I'm wondering how I put my Flares in my "Filter" section cause I only found one file that's related to that and there's over 50 flares. Maybe they been loading from a seperate folder somewhere else. Ah I wish Photoshop would install things automatically so I wouldn't have to worry about this stuff.

Oh my god! I just hate that accent so much lol. I rewatched the video 5 times so I can get the instructions stuck in my head and now I just feel like punching my screen!
