In this video I install a new timing belt and water pump in a 1997 Toyota 4Runner. Vehicle had a major coolant leak.

Did this job on a t100 several years ago. Got it all done. Then had to replace the fuel pump. You guy are not as expletive as I was lol. You done a great job.

Couple of those brackets looked like a big pain in the ass my son has the exact same vehicle that needs the timing belt change no water pump leak but will change it also but the coolest thing about this video is working with your son.

When you took the tensioner off at the first I didn’t see the washer on the back of it and you didn’t mention it. I hope you found it and put it back on. I think it is a spacer as well as a washer. Everyone always stresses how important it is. I haven’t done this job yet but the parts are on the bench ready to go. 👍

Wow that belt is really cracking a lot it makes me wonder if it’s the original I have a 2002 Tacoma and the sticker says changed at 150k and the mileage is 300k now iv got the parts and I’m ready to do this job. I don’t think I’ll be driving it anymore until I change that belt.

U didn’t need to remove the ac bracket . You can that spring tensioner bolt from underneath the truck

That’s not the water pump. But I’m sure you found that out
