All the little things about Windows Vista were lovable. It's name, feel, user interface, Aero, sounds, gadgets, logo, start menu, etc.

Exciting new video. I remember when I was at school 2007, the Aero interface projected on the big screen, it was so beautiful that I can't focus on the class. Though many years past, I still can't forget the beauty of Windows Vista. I don't like the metro UI in nowadays operating system.

Great video! I used Windows Vista from 2008 to 2018, and had very little issues.

Vista SP2 is the sweet spot on my Xeon X5670/12 GB DDR3-1333 desktop. It feels much smoother than Windows 7 and is the oldest OS to support all of my peripheral hardware.

"Features first; refinement last..." "buggy mess." That sounds familiar.
In all seriousness though, as far as the inadequate hardware and increased requirements, that was a problem under the XP era too.

Windows Server 2008 and Server 2008 R2 get extended paid support until 2023. So, Windows Vista will live as long as Windows XP and it is still living and working fine.

I miss using Windows Vista as my main OS. I used Vista until 2012, and XP until 2014. It always ran better for me than Windows 7 did. Only OS that I don't have performance issues with on my main machine nowadays is Windows 10, and I made it look like Vista.

Built my first pc back in 2007 and vista was the choice of OS for the machine. Originally, I wanted to use XP on my new computer but almost all stores I went to that sold windows were out of copies of XP and vista was the only ones available so I bought a copy vista ultimate and used it until 2009 I upgraded my machine to windows 7. Regardless of the issues vista had over the years, I was one of those lucky users to use it without any problems(Probably because my machine was powerful enough to run it) And I actually liked using it. It’s a shame though that it got so much hate over the years.

Good discussion. I did not go for Windows 7, as I could not resolve a logical dilemma:

If you hate Windows Vista, then why go for Windows 7?
If Windows 7 is really good, then why shall we abandon Windows Vista?

Too bad that Microsoft did not do anything to make Windows Vista great again, but just use the number 7 to fool the customers.

Amazing video as always! You were totally right. We shoudn't blame Vista for this kind of experience, if Microsoft had given more time on making this OS then these problems with stability and bugs would be gone. Furthermore, we should totally blame the OEMs for this instead of Microsoft, they did not understand that Vista was too ahead of it's time and powerful and yeah the new driver model and the new codebase caused a lot of problems with those who had Machines with these dumb ''Combatible with Windows Vista'' stickers. In conclusion, we can see that Windows 7 took the place of Vista, Vista would be as successful as 7 without these problems.

I have 2007 build windows vista installation disc (came with my old casper pc (that i still use today :D)) and it sucked ASS. it couldnt properly support drivers. it was buggy and complete trash. But when the sp2 came out i decided to go back to windows vista. SP2 made windows vista as perfect as windows 7. now i sue windows vista home premium as my main operating system. I love your tutorial videos about windows vista. it helped me a lot. please continue making content. i wish the best for you and your channel.

Vista does have some little quirks even on decent hardware with latest updates, I've noticed that whilst using it it likes to freeze up when attempting to do multi tasking such as installing a program whilst doing other things.

The main reason I wish I could still use it is just the visual aesthetic of vista but it is unfortunate that the support is dropped for programs I need and powerful hardware that I require

I would love to just run tweaks to make windows 7 or higher work like vista but I've found them to be glitchy or just slightly off to the point where it bugs me.

great to see your videos, tbh i didnt care about vista until in 2015 when i heard there was a service pack 2 and the eol was in 2017, i did my best to install vista on my haswell machine(never cared about what other people think) which didnt turn out well after which i got it running on my skylake and saw how vista sp2 felt so very unique and snappy compared to windows 7 and 8, till today i use vista dualboot alongside 7 and it doesnt feel obsolete at all, some might call me delusional but i think vista sp1+ is one of the best windows os ever. People jumping to conclusion quickly is the issue here, it still annoys me how people compared an o/s that is 7 years old and has multiple service packs to a new o/s which had its flaws and never even gave vista a chance and just directly switched to 7 :(, incase you dont remember its burd here, see you in the forums soon :).

I used Windows Vista and i didn't have any problems. I had a Intel Dual Core computer with 2GB and Ati Radeon video card. I always loved more Vista than 7 honestly.

Hey, this question is kind of off topic, but I think you should consider making a video on how to extend Windows 7 updates (after support, of course), since Windows POSReady 7 has support until October 2021. Additionally, because POSReady 7 is eligible for ESUs, it can be extended until 2025 (But that's unless you like pirating). Speaking of ESUs, Windows Server 2008 R1 is also eligible for ESUs until 2023 at least. Are you going to make a video on that? I heard someone has already found a bypasss.

Maybe the ESU stuff is pirating, and I totally understand, I just thought it would be really interesting. However, the POSReady 7 updates until October 2021 would be really interesting.

This is amazing. I'm sad that I can't run League of legends on Vista anymore... I hope I could find a solution for this.
