From Portugal boss Roberto Martinez, who played lower league football for the likes of Swansea City and Wigan Athletic, to France head coach Didier Deschamps, who won the World Cup, Euros, and multiple Champions Leagues as captain, HITC Sevens ranks every manager at UEFA Euro 2024 based upon their ability and careers as players.

This is actually interesting, I feel like most people have zero clue who the managers of most of the national teams are

Funny enough, "Tedesco" means German in Italian. Fitting.

Hot take, Koeman isnt even a bad manager, he did great at Ajax in the early zero's, got the most out of an mediocre Feyenoord squad. And was amazing at Southampton. His Barca days may be controversial, but he set a lot of the foundations for their "ressuraction". He got a demotivated Messi and had to play Brentwaith, Jutlga, Mingueza as starters. He was never backed by Laporta because he was elected by Bartomeu. Furthermore his first stint as Tye Netherlands manager, was the best football The Netherlands played since 2014, beating France, Germany twice and won against England. Not saying he is a world class manager, but landing topjobs for over 20 years isn't a fluke.

Not only Koeman and van Dijk started at Groningen, also Robben is from there. Luis Suarez started his European career there. And some less talented but known players lkke Tadic, Sorloth, Kostic, Dallinga (Toulouse, 2x seasons in a row 10+ goals) and Bjorn Meijer (Club Brugge) came from Groningen.

Since you mentioned Marco Rossi in FIFA 97 I'd like to note that Vincenzo Montella is an absolute beast in Championship Manager 01/02, regularly winning the Ballon d'Or

Koeman is a decent manager, he won the league with my club PSV and did well for a few seasons at everton, it didnt work out at Barça but we'll see how he does this Euros

Hjulmand did not play for B93 in the danish top tier. Rasmus Højlunds dad, Anders was in that team. B93 was one of the worst teams to ever feature in the Danish league. 12 points from 33 games.

35:26 Ronald Koeman is a legend in the Netherlands, and while he failed at Barcelona(as a manager), I hope he will regain that honor at the Euros

30:15 You forgot Willy van de Kerkhof! 6 Dutch titles, 3 Dutch Cups, 77/78 EUFA cup, 1988 Europa Cup 1 and part of the Dutch team that came 3rd in EC'76 and reached the 1974 and 1978 WC finals!

Sorry but Koeman get's way too much criticism as a manager. He is not world class but he is pretty good. On al the channels previewing the Euro's he always gets way more flack then he actually deserves.

This is one of those times where I really get reminded of my age. I used to follow international club football back in the 90s and 00s and haven't really come to terms with how much time has passed since then. So when I see the big clubs playing now I often think ohhh where's Batistuta? Davor Suker? Maldini? Shevchenko? Romario? Bebeto? Klinsmann? Koeman? And then it hits me that these guys are now all in their 50's or even 60's. Just finished watching, damn, I feel unbelievably old.

Alfie, Koeman got the job based on the fact that he’s good at removing dead wood and giving youth talents an actual chance.

He did that at Ajax (under him Van Der Vaart, Sneijder and Nigel De Jong debuted)

He did that at Feyenoord and Barcelona aswell.

He’s a great manager who if given time can actually get results.
