Please do not place popups over videos. The drone gives us a great view of the area until the pop-up covers it. Cannot remove it. Put your info before or after the video, not during.

Where was the "road" damage?

Those drones, when used in this manner, really are amazing tools.
Nevertheless, that's a view of a whole lot of sadness.

I drove over along the McKenzie river this week. Oh, it is so sad to see so many homes lost. My question is how many of the homes that were lost would have been saved it the owners had followed the guidelines for a fire safe home? I have seen how maintaining a firesafe property has saved homes during a wild fire.

the burn pattern makes no sense whatever, crazy.

This is the heart of Detroit Oregon. That one grocery store burned but the other is still there. Looks like that AirBNB house made it alive that we stayed at.

My partner, an architect, designed from the ground up (he even did the site survey and some of the later engineering calcs) a set of plans for a couple's house in Detroit that was completed earlier this summer. House was on Santiam St. Don't know if it's still there. We hope it is, but looking at this (and other) videos, my partner's first-ever house to be built may be only a memory now.

If a car (or truck) burns on the road, it will leave a scorch mark.
The road will still be driveable, but you'll feel a small depression. it should be sealed asap before moisture gets into the underlying layers especially before the freeze thaw cycles.
Roads are my occupation.

What road damage.did I just miss it? Or am I blind.t I kind of expected burned up pavement or a bridge gone or something drone is too high to see closeup but really does well in showing homes and forest up in smoke.

So sad.. it's like mourning the death of an old friend. Did Piety Knob in Detroit Lake burn too?

Still looking for the damage to the roads as the video title is claiming "road damage" from those Oregon wild fires ...

The fire burned so fast that it didn't burn thoroughly

Ironic: firetruck destroyed.. Any area where homes survived in a neighborhood fire will be deemed uninhabitable. Most won't have power and often local water is severely contaminated by the fire fighting chemicals.... like there is way more damage than one sees. I can't imagine the Insurance nightmare for some of these homeowners.

So if it's a "forest" fire, why are only trees near houses burnt or in specific areas and shapes looking like a fire was set but didn't last long in multiple places?
Pay attention to that in these videos.
