Fun review. You captured the reasons why I love playing this. It's chaotic, sure, but that's kind of the point. I think this, like many co-op games, depend a lot on the people you are playing with, despite what you say about there being a role for every kind of player. If people take this game seriously and only play to win they won't have any fun... If you go in expecting to blow yourselves up but go down laughing and fighting you'll have a blast (and maybe even win occasionally).

Good review, thanks for posting. I'm on the fence as to what my family should get me as a gift this year. Either this, which would be great coop fun for me and all my friends, or the Xwing mini game that FFL is putting out, which is pricey and much more limited out the box.

I was just in the same ciscumstance a few weeks ago!!! Somehow I managed to get both (almost by accident lol) And I ASSURE YOU Space Alert is the BEST GAME I've ever played. X-wing it's fun too, but there's no comparison!!

A big problem I have with this game is that I can not understand what the distorted voice is saying. That and we can not play it at public establishments.

@valisisreal I recommend playing Shadows over Camelot before you buy it. I found it to be very bland. Alternatively try Battlestar Galactica (my favorite co-op game), or if you don't really dig having a hidden traitor in your co-op games I recommend Pandemic.

About my only problem with it would be trying to find a CD player. I am so used to streaming or downloading anything like that. That I am not even sure if they still sell CD players.

i was very excited about this game, im a huge fan of co-operative games until i realized you had to use a damn cd with it..

I was not a fan of this game and needless to say traded it away only after a few tries. It is extremely chaotic and busy and not in the good way.
