Conair 1875 Hair Dryer repair and troubleshooting

In this episode I'll try to repair/troubleshoot a Conair 1875 hair dryer, which has excessive noise.

Just had same fan blade cracking issue on a Conair 1875. Using a pencil soldering iron, I lightly melted plastic on both sides of the cracks. Then I melted in some ABS plastic filament, the 1.75mm diameter type used in craft printing pencils. Smoothed it out and fan runs great. Vibration was negligible. Found one in the trash tonight. No power to motor. Thanks to your brilliant video I will have fun taking it apart and troubleshooting. I have had great success using super glue with baking soda for plastic repairs. Bet you could repair/ reinforce the fan blades . Thank you for an excellent in depth tutorial. Thanks for posting this. My Conair Ionshine developed the exact same problem with the fan blades. Now I wonder how many Conair hair dryers use the same part prone to eventual problems. And I wonder if anyone had found a way to fix or replace the fan blades.

Can the hairdryer still work if you cut out the heating coils? Looking to modify so the heat function is completely disabled

i have the same brand and model, i knew the big noise came from the "blade" and i believe is loose from his base or cracked, i gave up, i bought a new Revlon hair dryer. no more Conair brand

Is there any bearing in the motor that needs to be lubricated regularly ? Ours (SuperMax hair dryer) are getting nosier, and when I took it apart last time, I couldn't just pull the blade off. I will try to pry it off next time when I took it apart to see if the noise is from the bearing or the blade. I wonder if you have any experience of lubricating the motor bearings in the dryers. Thanks

Me, I just put super glue on the edges of the 4 blades to balance the weight of the glue a bit and it still works after 1 year

I was able to repair the blade by working in some acrylic glue into the break.

What if one's heating element just stopped working? Our hairdryer is relatively new, so it seems like it should not have this problem just a couple of months after we bought it.
