Sorry guys had to re-upload this one because the end was cut off.

In this video, I take a look at the Rock64 4Gb single board computer from Pine64.
I also test out Lakka a retro emulation that lets you play thousands of old-school retro games from the past!

Glad you fixed it. I couldn't do anything else until I found out how it ended. The suspense was killing me.

Hi. Thanks for your contributions and tutorials. I have a question, if you had to choose between the Raspberry Pi 3B + and Rock64. which one would you choose?

Cool video. Do you use the Emmc or the microSD for system?

Random comment : maybe do a video (videos) on retro gaming on and jail breaking of apple products. I actually hate Crapintosh with a passion but a friend recently asked me to set up retro gaming on his iSad mini and Im stuck. I love the way you break it down ETA! Much love!

Will you be testing the new RockPro64? It looks like a nice SBC.

Thanks ETA Prime,
I do enjoy these single board computers, can't wait for the next Generation of boards with even more powerful, CPU & GPU combination, hopefully the Pi 4 when it arrives will be awesome, but i fear that we are going to need liquid cooling to stop the bugger from throttling.
Which brings me around to the point of overclocking this Rock 64 board, is that possible, do you think?

I'm having issues with Lakka / Retroarch supprting my PS4 joysticks when connected with USB cable - the joystick is detected correctly (checked in dmesg) but half the buttons are not recognised. I have tried 3x different PS4 joysticks (all working on PS4 with no isses), different USB cables and different USB ports on my amlogic build of Lakka. Same issue with an xbox one controllor - but a XBOX 360 and USB receiver work with no issues. So just problems with current gen joysticks?

Any progress on the software side for the original Pine64? I have 2 Kickstarter boards that I not using currently because last I checked there were no great software options. I'd love to be able to use them for gaming.

When you do emulation, can you run Crash team racing? Some emulators crash at the very beginning and that could be a good starting point.

I am running rock65 v3 1gig. I want to thankyou for directing me to the Pine64 Etcher. Actually managed to get Lakka 2.3.1 installed onto my Rock. I connected a Netgear Wifi dongle with no results. It works in my pc so I know the dongle works. Are there specific dongles that will work with Rock64? Is it just better to connect via ethernet? And where in the world did you get all the content on that board?

Thank you for this video, I am fascinated by these boards and there are a lot of them. Not sure why I am so fascinated with them though... I have a Shield TV Pro and N64 works just fine on it and all the emulators work great, but part of me still wants to "build" one of these boxes... I think it might be all those preconfigured images for SD cards. Not sure I want to mention the web page but they are punks :P lol But the idea of just downloading like a 32GB or 64GB image and tossing it on a SD card with no configuration woes. That appeals to my lazy side :)

RomFlix ftw? It takes a bit to set up but it's so awesome :)

Will Lakka play mp4 and mkv video files larger than 4gb?

Great video as ever. Just a thought though - is GoldenEye really a good choice to test performance when on original hardware the frame rate often dips to teens and single figures?

why dont you use 720p resolution or screen smoothing while gaming at native resolution. we all have nice tvs now and would like to know the real performance of these boards with screen smoothing enabled. thanks for your videos etaprime ive been watching your videos now for 2 yrs..

I've used both releases of Lakka on the same 4gb board. It freezes every time right after boot. Only happens with Lakka, all other distros work fine. Any thoughts?
