When I went to my open day at Oxford I watched a current student go through the interview stage as part of their “open day talk”. They gave plenty of tips; the biggest one being that if you feel you have failed miserably in the interview that is probably because you were progressing well and they wanted to push you a bit (I think Eve can vouch for this after watching her cry over her interview!!)

Thanks Eve I remember asking for this a few weeks ago. I shared this with my sister and she’s now going to apply to Oxford. I am going to Cambridge this year. One extra thing I would also say, is watch lecture/tutorial films, so you know what it may be like for you there, and if you feel like it fits for you. (I know the interviews simulate this whole process, but this is also a good tip.)

I was rejected after interviews but will be reapplying since I wanted to take a gap year anyway. Maybe we will see each other in a year haha
I have a comment on the getting pooled/having interviews at differen't colleges thing - it's different for every subject! (and every year possibly) I was applying for Biochemistry and was told at the start that apart from my "original" college I'd have an interview at a second one, same with every other person applying for Biochem. And then on top of that some of us might get invited to even more interviews. So really, don't get attached to anything anyone says about the amount of interviews/colleges because it's different for everyone! :)
