Hi Christina! Its awesome I just found out today that Kilig is now officially in the English Dictionary since 2016. I noticed it today since I saw in Netflix’ Bridgerton series. It says “Kilig” on one of its description/category. And then I found ur vid on Youtube... That’s really pretty amazing. It reminds me of Javanese word 'kêri' (kuh-ree). It's some feelings like tickling hence can make you laugh until 'ngakak' 😂😂.

In Indonesian / Malay it would be 'geli' (guh-lee).

But, the Filipino 'kilig' is more on the intangible sense / feeling while the Javanese one is mostly used in the physical manner (hand-tickling).

Maybe they are cognates, I don't know...

using kilig in english sentence should be right i mean hearing kilig in sentence like "i am kilig" "she/he is kilig" sounds wrong if you know what i mean. In philippines "kinikilig" is the right word to use or to say when expressing the romantic feelings ( i don't know how can i say it but this is all the best that i can say) you can know the difference between the KILIG and KINIKILIG- both have the same meaning but use in slightly in a different way...

EXAMPLE ; " i am kinikilig" in tagalog "kinikilig ako" this is when i am saying it to myself that i am kinikilig.
-when we are talking about other person like he and she it should be "he/she is kinikilig'' in tagalog " kinikilig sya" or in a group "they are kinikilig"

-there are also a variation of kinikilig; "nakakakilig and kakakilig'' this two only to use when we are kinilig to other's romance we use it like ( this one is a compliment you can say it with and without person like in movies, series, your friends relatioship... ) "you two are (so) nakakakilig'' it is like saying they are cute together.

-"both of them are nakakakilig" "they are so nakakakilig" when talking about with friends and its like "bro look at them they are cute"

the "kakakilig' is just the silent of "na" in nakakakilig
