The natural wood look, and the finish, on this guitar is what makes it look good. The sound it makes is wonderful. I have an "08" SG, a "Paul" would be great in my collection

Ciao, VIto! Thanks for the great video! I have a 1979 The Paul that I bought brand new (my first guitar, still going strong!). It is NOT a Les Paul. It's a completely different beast. It's simply The Paul.

The best thing about it is not that it's almost 38 years old, but that it has a neck to die for. It is an extremely comfortable guitar to play, with contours carved on the back for the ribcage and on the front for the forearm. Not only that, the pickup selector is in a much more convenient location for me than on a Les Paul. Lastly, it's much lighter than the real deal.

Unfortunately, the stock pickups lose definition as soon as you roll back the volume knob, which is why I replaced the stock pickups with Seymour Duncan P-Rails a while back. Lately I'm thinking about switching back to the original T-tops but putting in higher value volume pots to extract more versatility out the the electronics on what is otherwise a fabulous guitar. I still play it pretty regularly despite having some very high-end electrics in my little collection.

Mine has scars all over the place, but it still looks beautiful to me. Such beautiful walnut, such simple appointments. And yes, it's totally 70s !!

I had one way back. Liked the thick tone but it was a little dark. Keep trying ways to brighten it up. I guess the maple top on most Les Pauls do the trick in that regard.

This guitar has been sanded.  I have the same guitar and the cuts are not that dramatic.  Nice playing btw.
