When I was 70 I realized I wouldn’t be able to live in a respectable way, then I left CA and I live in a Latin country.
People need to accept change, not easy but not impossible either. Life is like a river the water is never the same but is beautiful!!

This is pathetic. Unfortunately I could have been one of them. My husband and I had to sell our home. We eventually got a small RV and were going to travel. We were living in an RV park when he got sick and died 10 mos ago. If my son didn’t have a house with an extra room I would have been on the street. Even though rentals in my area aren’t as bad as San Diego with my bills I wouldn’t have been able to manage. A huge thank you to my son!

I'm 63 and my wife is 66. 22 years ago we just barely managed to get a manageable mortgage on a "fixer-upper". If we didn't own our home now, I can't imagine being able to afford the rents people are asking these days. It is so easy to see ourselves in these poor homeless folks and my heart breaks for them.

The average 2 bed apartment in San Diego is $3742? That’s the craziest thing I’ve heard. American capitalism has taken a turn for the worst.

age discrimination is worse than any other type of discrimination. How about a national jobs program for older people!

There is an evil thing happening. It's because people don't own the land they live on. Too much greed.

I don't understand, and I don't get it American, we save alot of people from Afghanistan, Ukraine etc. We bring them here feed, housing, we give them money, free education, and look at the border we bring them in and give them free everything, while a born American citizen is out there homeless, l just don't get let's start taking care of our homeland citizens before going out to help

Maybe they should take their own advice and cut down on all the Starbucks, Netflix and avocado toast they keep telling us to while blaming us for everything.

Who in the world can afford this rent? It seems to me that raising the rents this high is self defeating. No one can afford it. Who do the landlords think is going to pay this? I can't help thinking this isn't real.

I'm thinking of changing my proffesion to become a caretaker for the elderly. They are the voice that goes unheard of and suffers most along with children. If we can't change these corrupt housing monopolize scheme. We should at least try help those who are mostly affected by it the best way we can
