Using SVG Files to create Jewelry!

Purchase your SVG Bundle here:

We take a look at an enjoyable and simple method that allows us to create Medieval Style Costume Jewelry from layers of lightweight chipboard. Perfect for Cosplay, Theatrical Productions, Special Occasions or Costuming, this technique can enrich your wardrobe and prop-making skills, clearing the path to new creative adventures!

The downside? An electronic cutter like the Cricut Maker is required.
By learning about the wide array of uses for this technology, you may find yourself motivated to invest in it for yourself. Part of the mission of this channel is to demonstrate just how useful (in many different creative pursuits) a Cricut Maker can be.

Why is this part of the mission? There are several reasons.

1: You deserve to have this creative power at your fingertips. For the span of human history, our projects have depended upon what we could 'fussy cut' or on the pre-cut pieces and kits available commercially. This technology puts the power of creativity squarely back where it belongs: in YOUR hands. Need a specific type of flourish to complete that dream project? Design and cut it right now. This instant. Yep.
2: Never before has the 'hobby/craft/artisan/artist' population been able to acquire such power to MAKE so inexpensively. Note: the investment is NOT negligible - but it is an investment in YOU - in your own capacity to bring forth the creations that are swirling through your head and heart. This is something worth emphasizing, over and over. How much have you spent on art supplies that are never even used? If you are anything like me, the figure is too high.
3: The possibilities for creative play (and production) are literally endless. Once you begin to allow yourself to imagine possible uses for this technology, you may find that, like me, you are almost overwhelmed by the flood of ideas. Because I'm swimming in an ocean of inspiration, I intend to transform these ideas into reality, one project at a time. The workflow typically revolves around the Cricut Maker - thus, it's impossible for me to share my discoveries with you without referencing it constantly.
4: Thicketworks/Thicketworks Studio earns a modest commission for all purchases made via the affiliate links posted here. Keeping the business afloat financially is required in order to continue to provide creative content. Okay, so now that you have a clear idea of WHY, let's get to the HOW! Cricut Maker Settings that worked well for my machine (yours may differ)

Ah-maz-ing!!! I love how you transformed chipboard, embellishments, glue and resin into beautiful jewelry! These would be so much fun to make for my granddaughters (and maybe even me)! Hmmm, I think Christmas is right around the corner. Thank you again for such wonderful, easy to follow, tutorials and projects!

Heather, so pretty. Your ideas cover such a wide range of crafts it gives inspiration every time you do your tutorials. Just a positive update for all of us old fashioned cricut owners. I have purchased a Sure Cuts A Lot version 2 software package from Etsy. I have now managed to cut some SVG files other than the cricut cartridges. I am going to experiment with the deep cut housing to see how well my old machine can cope with thicker card and with fingers and toes crossed I may even be able to embark on your projects. Thank you again for your continued encouragement. Love jo x

What a gorgeous project! Alas, I have no access to any such cutting machines. 😥 Looking forward to any of your (always breath-taking) projects not requiring machine cutting. Video is fascinating to watch anyway!

Gorgeous! I had a choker craving a few weeks ago and this would be perfect. I feel like the gold wax here really shone. Maybe you already made one, but a pocket watch could be really cool with this technic? Can't wait for the next video as always!
