Who wants a baby R7 with a high revving cross plane engine and classic R bike looks? :)

crazy thing is they keep increasing the price of the R3 every year without any upgrades

With what Kawasaki did to the 400, the R3 could see a rise in ownership. Would be a good time to update it.

I hate this push for more cc and more power. These are begginer bikes. Small bikes. What's gonna happen to this segment? They keep pushing it and pushing it soon everything will start at 600cc for no reason. They just gonna keep getting more expensive and more powerfull. I just want a street bike that looks nice and isn't that slow. Not a track bike

They overpriced and made a mess of the release in R3 in India. Considering it used to be one of my favourite back in 2016 when I first rode it and wanted to finally buy (thinking it would be affordable), but no. Aprilia on the other hand with its release of RS457, nailed it. It offers more power and features at a much lower price in India. I still have mixed feelings about the release of Ninja 500, I preferred the Ninja 400 for its nimbleness, even though 500 might have more torque but once again it will be overpriced. That being said, Ninjas will do very well but mostly in the pre-owned market in India.

KTM on the other hand is kicking ass but it has that hooligan/squid/chapri image in India. Really would have loved if RC390 new model got released soon. Honda again has disapponted by not launching a twin cylinder sports. Neither 8S nor R7 are coming to India, which is a disappointment again.

Yamaha needs to give us a R4 400cc crossplane

Idc what anybody says, my r3 will always stay in my name. I’ve been riding it for almost 3 years now, put close to 15k miles on it and i would never sell it.

In India, Yamaha is selling the R3 for $600 *more* than the Aprilia RS457, a motorcycle that is $1299 dearer than the R3 in the US. Go figure 😅

Got my R3 in 2022. Best beginner bike in my opinion, especially using a r6 throttle tube once you get used to the bike. I got an all black one, and people who don't know motorcycles think it's a liter bike. R3 is also fun to ride since it's easy to full throttle and shift gears as much as you want. This bike is fun to commute to work in.

In India they priced it 10% over Aprilia 457 which is absurd. Even with discounts R3 is so dated and basic that its nonsense to buy it now.

In India they really disappointed everyone 🤡

I loved my little R3, had it for 1.5 years. They can be weapons in the right hands (I've gotten outriden on a twisty road by one before 😬). I think if they bump it to a 400-500, it would be perfect. The main reason I got rid of it was that anything over 75 mph was a struggle for it.

Crazy idea - don't bump displacement but instead slash the price. Guaranteed to make everyone happy

I've been saying this shit too. I'm glad you made a video for it. The R15 V3/V4 and R15M DESTROYS the R3 in regards with tech. - VVA, Slipper clutch, and the R15M even has launch control and track modes LMAO. Come on Yamaha!

Edit: Forgot to add, I'm thinking the reason the R3 is getting ignored is because a new bike is coming. I want to believe.

OMG they just announced the new re-designed R3 and it's gorgeous. Please get your hands on one asap! It's glorious!

As an outsider looking in who has never owned or rode a bike but looking to get a bike I think having an r3 is going to be good. I don’t think a beginner bike needs to be “exciting” or “sporty” I think low hp and lightweight and some what “dull” would be good. Guys like me need to build a certain skill set before we get into something a little more “fun”. Maybe I’m just overthinking it?

Yamaha should do an R4 400cc triple with a restricted version for learners. It would be a mental thrash for the streets.

Actually agree with yams on this one....R3 will be the next gsxr250 if doesn't update. Even the diehard yamaha fans have to admit better out there in same class.

The R3 is fragile compared to any of the other small track options. I race with CVMA in the 350 Super Sport class. The Ninja 400 and RC-390 are in the 500 SS class, as well as the Ultra Lightweight class. In the 350 SS class the R3 is pretty much the easy button, but the Ninja 300 and the CBR300R are still competitive options.

I work for Yamaha. Every time they announce the new models for the upcoming year, I ask our reps if they are going to make a 400cc. Every time, they say no. I asked why and they say that they feel they don't have any need to compete with the ninja 400. When I converse with them on why they feel that way, they never give a reasonable answer. They just spew arrogant nonsense. I love Yamaha but the fact that they don't even care to have a 400cc sport bike or a 1000cc ATV plus the fact that they won't bring the tracer 700 to the states really aggravates me sometimes.
