Although I was aware of Survivor, I really just started listening to them again. I absolutely love Jimi's voice and regret not paying more attention to his singing in the past. So sad he passed away about 9 years ago. I'm just fascinated by him now.

To compare Dave Bickler, Tommy Shaw, and Jimi.... just no contest.... They all hit the notes, but only Jimi could really nail the gentle alongside the bombastic, transitioning from each smooth as silk.

Very few have the ability to carry off ballads, hard rock, and pop as if it's their main genre--but Jimi did... all within the same song.

We really lost a great one, but the Angels gained some serious competition!

I was in 1st year high school when I watched the movie Lock Up in a theater near school.

This song played at the end of the movie and the beginning of the credits. I remember being so captivated by it, that I stayed to finish it play even though the lights were already on.

In the movie Stallone and his girlfriend would exchange a hand gesture. When I had my very first girlfriend in 1991, we made the same hand gesture. We're happily married to this day.
