I watched this a decade ago. I guess the algorithm was feeling nostalgic. What a difference ten years make. I met Michael and Kevin at a VidCon around the time of this video. I actually managed a fairly extended conversation with Kevin, but both were gracious and down to earth. There's quite the story about that con.

I always wondered why the red part of a rainbow looked so dull and was difficult to distinguish color from. It makes a lot of sense now, looking at the absorption spectra of the human eye cone cells. The red's absorption peak isn't actually where red is, it's near yellow. So anything redder than yellow actually doesn't fully excite the cone cells, so that's why we're bad at distinguishing red tones.
