Budget was ridiculously high even at 270Mil, terrible casting and PR to begin with, what a disaster of a film.

Still can’t believe it made millions. I was expecting thousands.

Congratulations to Disney for making a movie hated by everyone. They've been trying for years. They've come close before, but now They've finally done it.

When a company thinks its too big to care about its consumers. Its not

But will Disney finally learn that nobody wants their live-action remakes?

Hometown already scrapped it from the theater.
Two full days in a row all 4 rooms had zero people.

My friend said the theatre forgot to even turn the lights off during the film because there was nobody in it lol.

It will be popular in the acting schools, and the screen writing workshops for decades. It is a PRIME example of "What not to do" when you are remaking a Loved Fairy Tale.

The Disney today is nothing like what Walt Disney had in mind. People in charge now are ruining his legacy.

I'm more surprised they made 143 million so far that's surprisingly high

If you think is bad, wait till Disney puts out a Pirates movie without Johnny Depp.

It couldn't have happened to a nicer company. This is karma for star wars.

Of all the companies going broke, this is the one that bothers me the LEAST.

Last night I ran The Return of the King budget through an inflation calculator. It was made in 2003 and had a budget of 94 million. In today’s money it comes out to a little over 163 million. There are no excuses for movies with such massive budgets to be just so bad. It’s such a shame how much money is being wasted in big movies these days.

My kids went with their mom to see it. None of them are plugged into the online discourse about this thing, so I was looking forward to hearing what they thought about it.
None of them liked it and my youngest said "everyone in it was ugly"...LOL

This has to be money laundering. There's no way this costed 270 million.

Why do they constantly remake the same movie and expect people to go and watch it?

Former theater owner here. Just so people are aware, the normal cut the theater receives on the sale of a ticket is 20% for top billed features and 30% for lesser features. It’s the studios that make all the money from a ticket. That’s why theaters charge ridiculous prices for concessions, it’s how they pay for the workers and make their money. No theater could survive on the ticket cut alone.
