Youtube literally read my mind. Was gonna get started on brick edging before summer starts. I hadnt even googled anything. This is perfect. Simple

As someone who just took out these exact bricks on our twenty year old house, i would absolutely hate you for concreting these into place.

I've seen quick setting cement, place the cement in the trench dry.Place the bricks in the trench then some cement in the gaps. Brush any powder off the top of the bricks, spray with water until the bricks and cement is wet. Done.

Any worries for shifting over time? Instead of going w sand / gravel

That’s intense. I generally set border blocks/rocks right into the dirt. The concrete seems like overkill?

I have sagging bricks from my flower bed since the edging is slightly on a hill.. wanted to redo it myself, thank god I saw this video. Didn’t know the bottom had a slight foundation..! I thought it was just placed in the soil directly.. might need to call a professional

Would you still use concrete mix if you were doing the same thing but with 8 inch wall blocks. Also when doing the concrete do you have to tamper it down at all

What's the difference between mortar and concrete mix?

Is it necessary to use mortar between the bricks? Maybe loctite adhesive for simplicity? I'm doing a rock patio (no pavers) and I'm doing the edging right now. I compacted gravel and sand into the trench but not sure if i really need to use concrete or not. Thanks!

Do you need to build a trench if you’re building a mini brick wall on concrete slabs? It’s just because we removed our shed and now a portion of our lawn (which is a higher level to the rest of our garden) is crumbling down to where the shed used to be on concrete slabs so we need to stop that from happening and level the lawn again

Looking to find out what to do about a yard that randomly slopes up and down..
Did i just find the answer?

Your not worried that without roadstone that concrete will act as a dam and could eventually fail by rolling on the hill?
I ask because that's the problem I'm having. Without Crete the weight from River Rock and water is just making my edger stones roll and move. Dug up now trying to decide if I need stone and Crete or just crete.

Great unless it freezes in your area. I lay stone in a few inches of pea gravel. Backfill.

What’s the mixing ratio to assure the brick bonds ?

Lay your wall level and just step it up with the grade

why cement...? it only adheres to the brick

Any thoughts on 12" pavers for this? Too long?

Would be lovely to have to remove when it's placed over the septic tank
