I will always love this line. It's like the moment in a good RPG when the game tells you "From here on out, there is no going back." and you must make a choice that locks you in. Luffy didn't yell the line. He said it quietly to himself with so much weight. Thinking about every person he's fought up to this point and maybe even thinking of those he hasn't fought. This wasn't a choice based on blind impulse of him protecting his friend, he fully knew the weight of his decision and deemed it worth everything that would happen next.

I think it's made more potent when you think back to when he met Chopper. Back then it showed explicitly that Luffy understood what it meant to raise a flag and that it's not something you should destroy so easily. He knew the full weight that flag carried and what it meant, and still decided to burn it.

That moment is priceless. Luffy in a moment of pure genius just shows Robin she doesn't need to worry about being a burden any more, because now he's down on her level, they're after him too now. Genius.

He doesn't even hesitate to shoot that flag. No complaints. No freak out. No nothing. And the crew doesn't even flinch. Even crybabies like nami and chopper don't even object. That's loyalty right there.

I really like the fact that Robin’s entire demeanor was broken in this moment. Instead of a cool and mysterious beauty she let her “ugly” self show. Tears covering her face and a voice crying out to live. Really sent her feelings out to the world.
