Why Neo-Marxism Is a Threat to Family and Faith | Real Talk

In Judaism and Christianity, children are taught to honor their mother and father. This is very different from the current liberal educational system in America, where schools often advise children not to listen to their parents or even inform them about struggles with gender identity. Marissa and Yoram Hazony discuss the danger of shifting toward a neo-Marxist society, where parents don’t have the right to teach their children—only the “experts” do.

Marxism is a wild ideology. Once Joseph Schumpeter said that Marxism is a religion. He was right. Pay attention to how Marxists are bound to their ideology so deeply as if it is a religion. They are true believers.

That's not a bug of neo-marxism. It's a feature. Marxism needs to be in a position of primacy. In a healthy society, faith and family come before government.

Thank for such an expanded explanation of the commandment to Honor Parents. 😊

There is nothing new (neo) about Marxism. It is the definition of sin. Sin is the absence of God, Marxism embraces atheism, and doesn't hold individuals accountable. “But why dost thou judge thy brother? or why dost thou set at nought thy brother? for we shall all stand before the judgment seat of Christ. For it is written, As I live, saith the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess to God. So then every one of us shall give account of himself to God.”
‭‭Romans‬ ‭14‬:‭10‬-‭12‬ ‭KJV‬‬

I do not believe in giving homework to very young children. When my children were in school they had educational and enrichment experiences with me. No school should have to tell a parent to spend 20 or 30 minutes a day reading a book or working puzzles or otherwise being engaged with them.

Here a part by part demolition of this video.

0:18 Imagine if an employer asked you to do extra involuntary unpaid work at home after your 8 hour shift. That what homework is to children.

1:12 No school is not saying you can't teach your child your values. Societal conformity enforces "rules" upon what values to install to your child. You can't just teach your children to not care about other people and to take advantage of others. These guidelines need to exist for obvious reasons.

1:38 It's not the school's job to make children honor their parents. That is the parents' responsibility. Sure the school can help, but dedicating an entire year to teaching honor to students is frankly insane and a waste of time/taxpayer money.

2:03 No, your main responsibility as a child is not to gratify your parents. It's quite low on the list too. I guess it is kind of important, but it can always come at a later date.

2:25 A kid who didn't honor his parents, for example because of abuse, can still honor laws and other stuff. A education system that prioritises teaching children to always honor their parents, is also one that condones abuse.

2:52 You can honor people that you didn't select, ON CONDITION that they honor you back. Otherwise it is an abusive relation. Just wanted to clear things out.

3:20 Not letting your child change gender is literally emotionally abusive duh, of course we are trying to stop parents from doing it. (Technically after searching for the causes of gender dysphoria, I didn't find any conclusive answers, but not allowing your child to express themselves is probably one.)

3:55 (By Marxism, I'm going to assume liberalism, because Marxism is an economic system) Someone who has gone to university about the topic of raising children and children's happiness and health definitely knows how to raise a child better than you. I'm not saying that you should give your child up for adoption to him to raise it, but listening to their advice won't harm anyone. Unless they are licensed by Prager University. The advice they give will probably hurt everyone.

Edit: Minor spelling and pretty sizable grammar mistakes

Systems of power stratified. An Emperor does not command all of his millions of serfs to wake up, work the land or to stop doing things that he does not approve of. Instead the Emperor has his court of High Lords and Supreme Priest, which gives orders to Province Lords and High Priests, which command city and district lords and mid-rank priests, who lead petty nobles and priests with their estates which have their retained clerks, knights and deacons to enforce the Emperor's rule and do the telling to the serfs. Respect for a Knight is respect for the Emperor by Proxy.

You want people to respect authority automatically, you teach it early. You do so by extolling the family as sacred, though one which is strictly hierarchic and authoritarian. The Patriarch rules over the household over wife, his sons (and by proxy their wives) and his grandchildren. Propagating the Family is the Patriarch's concern, the more children the more minions under his sway. Daughters are married off to produce kids as soon as possible. That way, the knight does not need to give orders to every adult, talking to the Patriarch will do. But if parents question their parents and grandparents it undermines the system.

That is the sort of "Parental Rights" the Right advocates. The refuse of fuedalism and petty tyranny of patriarchs.

I remember sometime in high school hearing that the best education will have kids coming home loving and respecting their parents more. At the time I had no plans to go into teaching, but now that I do teach, I keep that in mind. If students come complaining about their parents, I listen, but then try to explain what their parents were likely thinking. It's good for the kids to get perspectives from other adults, especially as teenagers, but without losing respect for their parents.

I'm Christian, but I bet our Blessed Lord was raised by good, Jewish parents just like these two fine folks here. Blessed Sts Mary, and Joseph would probably agree.
Respect.

The early Christians were communists. This is from the second chapter of Acts: "44 All who believed were together and had all things in common; 45 they would sell their possessions and goods and distribute the proceeds to all, as any had need."

How is this related to Marxism, which is about equal distribution of wealth and workers liberation, and has nothing to do with education and ideas you described ?

But what is Neo-Marxism? I hear this accusation from the right a lot, but they seem to use the term loosly, and often in racial terms.

Many Marxists are Christians. I am one of them. Actually, I am a Marxist precisely because I believe in the ethical teachings of Jesus. Also, some passages in the 2nd and 4th chapters of Acts sound like they were written by Karl Marx.

I am an atheist. I don't believe in the existence of God. There is insufficient evidence or rational justification to support the belief in any gods or supernatural entities. I rely on reason, logic, and empirical evidence to form my worldview and do not find compelling evidence or arguments to support the existence of god.
