Asaro which is also known as Yam pottage or Yam porridge is a very delicious Yam recipe though it's eaten by most tribes in Nigeria but it's more common in the Yoruba speaking parts of Nigeria.

This dish reminds me of "Turn Cornmeal or Tun Cornmeal" similar concept but Jamican's use cornmeal, saltfish ar mackerel, and seasonings.

Yum yum! The addition of crab was everything. I'm going to add prawns in addition to crab and a little bit of shredded curry leaves for a tantalising fragrant finish. Can't wait to dig in.

Yummy, I woke up this morning with a sore body and lost of appetite so I was craving something spicy hence the thought of Asaro, since i had yam in the house. I followed your recipe without the palm old and crabs due to cholesterol fears. I supplemented with olive oil and smoked fish with chopped up parsley. Thank you, I feel my appetite coming back. :)
