I just got an F100 and Mesa 4X12 OS cab for a steal of a deal and I got to say it's a killer head. A boost in the front and an EQ pedal in the loop really helps get it to that next level. Tons of thump, it really pushes a lot of air through those speakers.

A buddy of mine owns a F50 combo, one of the best sounding and affordable gigging combos Mesa made. A shame they're discontinued.

My buddy has both these amps. Had the late 80s f100 for years and just got a mark V couple weeks ago.... He's gonna have a bad ass stereo rig eventually

Thanks for the great video. with the million and 1 choices, this is helping get closer to making a one

The F50 table is great. what struck me was the very organic clean, while the v mark sounded thin and sterile.

Both are good amps, F-100 might sounded better at lower gain, but not enough "chug" as compared to Mark V on high gain situation.
But then again, the Express series does those things better than F series, I wish they can do Mark I type of tone though.

F100 sounds like proper breakup and gain. Mark V is trying the Rectifier sound of Angry bees always present. If I want fuzz or angry bees I will use a pedal.

I loved the cleans on thr mark V (Mark 1 mode?), and the thick high gain of the f100.

I definitely preferred the F-100 in this demo.

I have an f50 combo. I'll never sell it. I'd like both amps though

I'm not sure why you got the mark v to sound like that with the Strat. Pretty sure you could get the mark to sound identical to the F100. The mark can do anything, but the F can only do what it does. Don't get me wrong, it sounds great, but the mark runs circles around the F

I've an F-100 combo that I've had for years and love it but, now I think its obvious....I need and another Les Paul.

I have an F50.. what settings are you using on dirt channel? No EQ pedal right? Thanks

Man I'm struggling! I have a mesa boogie F50 that sounds pretty much like your f100, I'm guessing they aren't super different. I'm about to get another amp.
Can't decide between the mesa boogie triple rect. Or the mark IV.
I am thinking I'll split the signal and run the triple rect along with the F50 thinking the F50 will tighten up the bottom end while the triple rect gives that crazy high end. But maybe I ought to just go for the mark IV??? I hope you respond

Could you do a shoot out with a dc-5 or dc-10. These amps are barely on YouTube in a quality video. The dc amps also have a post graphic eq. Thanks!

The F-100 sounds awfully tinny and thin in comparison, not digging it, even if they are cheaper.
