Totally agree that co-op should be a category. By the way, it would be nice if multiplayer that doesn't require another PC - like shared, split screen -, and multiplayer that only requires one copy of a game - like DRM free with LAN support, free to play - would be too. But of course these are just daydreams in a world where even just co-op is not a given category.

For PC players its Elden Ring Seamless co op mod. There are some bugs but nothing major and nothing a rejoin doesn't fix. Been progressing from the tutorial all the way with 3 friends, no major problems and it syncs for all players. The only thing is for NPCs sometimes you can just mist into your world to talk to them and then rejoin the host right back. Sometimes it does desync and says you killed a boss twice ashes wise but we just level up then jump off a cliff to keep the leveling normal.

That the "Multiplayer game" is almost solely PvP games and the fact that Gotham Knights was reviewed almost exclusively in singleplayer, thus possibly encouraging other publishers to drop their co-op in fear of facing similar faith, are just too wrong D:
