I’ve used almost every brand out there. Makita hits that sweet spot with more than enough power but with low vibration and a refined feeling unlike any other tool brand in the same class. They may not be the prettiest tools with all the bells and whistles but the inside of the tool is probably the best engineered.

Now they just need to make all their older tools brushless like the right angle drill.

I've had this impact for a year now, in olive drab green and it's the impact driver PERFECTED. The handle being brought forward on the base also allows you to screw up boxes with shorter bits without catching the battery on the lip of the box.

I dont understand why people are so fascinated when YouTubers do the head to head of impact drivers showing how fast they can drive long bolts. I understand if you're driving those type of lags every day, go with Milwaukee / Flex / Dewalt. But I rarely have to drive screws like that. I much rather prefer the precision, feel of the trigger, and ergonomics of Makita tools.

I replaced my ancient Makita tools with flex. Had the Makita’s for close to 20yrs and never had a problem with them. Great tools. I’ve also been extremely happy with flex. This new Makita looks great as well! Good job Makita!

Greetings Vince, I have the xdt20 1 week ago and it is very comfortable to use, I buy it on Amazon since the home depot does not yet have it, I already had the Japanese version the td173d in olive color, highly recommended.

I have the Japanese version that came out a couple of years ago and it's sweet! Auto mode 1 is great for lags and 3 is great for pocket hole framing.

I own tools from every company but when I worked for a cabinet shop my drills locked in a locker sometimes my Makita drills sat for weeks and months in that said locker pulled them out they never disappointed worked like a charm they stayed at full charge the whole time explain this to me some of my favorite drills on the market today

We have xdt 14s at work and…they still work lol. They get dropped and abused every day. We even have really old batteries with no battery bars…that still work lol

Love the 40v XGT platform. Biggest advantage - tools and batteries run longer and cooler on 40v ! XGT tools shine for heavy duty applications - rear handle saws, hammer drills, chipping hammers, commercial blowers, heavy duty grinders, blowers, and recip saws. I own 7 of the XGT tools. All have exceeded my expectations. Still love my 18v LXT tools, but for heavy duty apps i will go with XGT.

I just noticed for the first time ever that you hold your impact driver exactly how I do. I use almost every tool with my middle finger on the trigger and my index on the tool body. It's strange to me that nobody else does that

nice!!! My Makita impact I got scruffy-used (30 quid/bucks lol) with a kinda messed up chuck/bitholder, but I still like the blighter ;)
