Botswana's new president Duma Boko on a mission to REVOLUTIONIZE Botswana future! - In a historic political upheaval, 54-year-old Duma Gideon Boko has done what seemed unthinkable just a few years ago: he has unseated Botswana’s ruling Botswana Democratic Party (B.D.P), ending its nearly 60-year hold on power. As one of the youngest African leaders on the continent, Boko’s meteoric rise represents a new wave of leadership and ambition in Botswana, yet many are still asking: who is this man poised to transform his country’s future?
Born in December 1969, in a small village 200 kilometers from Gaborone, Boko grew up in a post-independence Botswana where dreams of self-determination were still fresh but far from fully realized. Graduating with a law degree from the University of Botswana in 1993, he went on to secure a master's degree at Harvard Law School in 1995. Even in his early days, he was no stranger to leadership, elected president of his university's student council and later founding his own law firm. But with a legal career that elevated him to one of the country's top lawyers, what drove him to turn toward the political battleground?
