I have to disagree, The nvidia shield should be number 1. It Supports the same apps as the roku and it has voice search, and google assistant is coming. It streams games( still a form of media). I am guessing pricing made u put it at number 2.

Love my Nvidia Shield kodi is the best thing since sliced bread. I can not wait for the Xbox one version of kodi to be released.

honestly my decision is either a Nvidia shield or Xbox one S. Xbox has 4k Blu-ray but the Nvidia can stream from my PC.... I also might want to skip 4k Blu-ray and get a PS4 pro for the games since I can play most Xbox games on PC now and wait for a Xbox "Scorpio" for 4k Blu-ray and hopefully by then game streaming from PC to Xbox. I have a pixel so Google Home support is coming to that so not too worried about that on the shield. hard to decide at this point as a gamer...

Unfortunately, Roku does not support DirecTV Now.

I would take Nvidia's ShieldTV over the Roku any day, I'd rather pay $100 more and get a more powerful and flexible platform that gets better after each software update.

Mi box probably shouldn't make this list as it has the weakest 4K library out of all these devices. Even the Xbox One S has more 4K support. There's also no apps that currently support HDR on the Mi box even though the hardware can handle it.

Every time I watch a CNET video I'm reminded why I don't like to watch CNET videos. Chromecast is #5 because you need a smartphone? Who doesn't have a smartphone? Next CNET will start downgrading TVs because you need functioning eyes to take full advantage of them. What a joke!
