The key thing is your source might not have uvs, so you can set up uvs on the low poly version before subdividing, then subdivide and reproject. Now you can make displacement or normal maps to use on the low poly version at render.

The downside of remeshing is to lose the Uv's. I would love to know how to remesh a model brought from MD, preserving the UV's, then projecting the details from the hi res version.

We where going over this with my professor and I was struggling with it until i saw this video and learned the only thing I wasn't doing was dividing the low poly version up.

Smart enough to develop a tool like this but. Not smart enough to add a feature to just import mtl files. So many updates have gone.

And it never occured to developers to add a import mtl file. To just skip all this drama and things more simple and efficient.

can you guys please get rid of the AskZbrush Poster? It's really annoying when I'm trying to learn stuff quickly. 10 seconds is annoying sorry.
