REGIONAL MEXICAN FOOD in MICHOACÁN | CHAVINDECAS, MORISQUETAS and MUCH MORE in APATZINGÁN

We found out about some REGIONAL MEXICAN FOOD in MICHOACÁN - this gave us plenty of reason to spend four days in the city of APATZINGÁN, Michoacán! Two dishes in particular piqued our interest: CHAVINDECAS and MORISQUETAS.

It soon became apparent that regional Mexican food in Apatzingán, Michoacán was only one reason to stick around town for several days!

For us, backpacking and traveling in Mexico is often about finding unique regional foods. Discovering dishes like chavindecas and morisquetas in Michoacán allows us to appreciate slow travel in Mexico - that often means lingering for days in order to eat regional foods in some off-the-beaten-path places in Mexico like Apatzingán, Michoacán.

That's correct: Food often dictates WHERE we travel in Mexico...and HOW we travel in Mexico!

Good Morning. I enjoyed this a lot. The crazy big tortilla reminded me of one time that I bought a large pizza, not realizing it was over 2 feet round. My Daughter had to put in the trunk of her car to bring it home. It was too big to sit on the seat. Thanks' it was fun to watch. And the two cleaning ladies seem so nice. Keep having fun:-)
