Watch the full demo of the Laney Lionheart amplifier and see the top reasons why this is one of the best tube amps today.

Laney CEO James Laney explains the design of the Lionheart range and @LeeWrathe provides some tonal examples to give you a flavour of this iconic range.

Lionheart, uniquely responsive boutique British Single-Ended Class 'A' tube tone. Play through a Lionheart - it reacts to your touch. From the moment you strike a note you’re connected. Let the music flow through you – from your fingers to the guitar, through the amplifier to the beating heart of the speaker.

So what makes the Laney Lionheart amps so good?

Since it was first introduced back in 2007, the Laney Lionheart series has become synonymous with pro-level tube amplifiers, able to give guitarists the ideal pedal platform they need while still retainiong its own unique character - something which all tube players really want. Proudly part of the Laney selection, the Lionheart has become the go-to amp for pro level players who demand reliable sound and that lush tube saturation when they need it.

In this video, Laney CEO James Laney explains how the Lionheart kickstarted the fashion for lower wattage tube amps in the 90s, but explains that the Lionheart is more than just a low wattage amplifier; its secret lies in its Class A power stage. In the five watt models, you'll find single-ended Class A, and in the 20 watt models, parallel single-ended Class A. The Lionheart power stage is paired with a special preamp stage that gives a rich, open sound with plenty of bite when you need it. It offers crispness and cut with good clean headroom, and the ability to add break up or step into a searing lead tone when switching to the second channel. It works beautifully straight in and simple, or as a pedal platform, or at the heart of a much more complex setup.

Watch as Lee Wrathe provides a sound comparison between the clean and crunch tones on the Laney Lionheart and hear why this is one of the best tube amps for tube amp lovers, professional guitarists and those who want that iconic Laney sound from their amplifier.

The Laney Lionheart range includes: the Laney L20T-212, an all tube 20W Class A amp with 2x12 inch Celestion speakers; the Laney L20T-112, featuring the same power but with a single 12 inch Celestion speaker; the Laney L5T-112, a more compact all tube 5W Class A amp with a 12 inch Celestion speaker; the Laney L20H, a robust all tube head rated at 20W Class A; the Laney L5-STUDIO, an all tube head with 5W Class A power and a USB interface for direct recording; the Laney LT212, a premium guitar cabinet with Celestion G12H 2x12 inch speakers; and the Laney LT112, a single 12 inch version offering the same high-quality Celestion G12H speaker.

I have the 50 watt version and it’s a beast. Just bought the L5 studio yesterday. Impatiently waiting it to arrive in the mail.

I’ve got a mk1 with the proper reverb tank, not the digital one, absolutely love it, but I wish the reverb was stronger.

This is my favorite little amp. I've got several <5watt amps(marshall, fender, Benson), and the L5 is just my go to, perfect all around. It looks absolutely beautiful too. I even wrnt and got the little battery powered one too, and that's got great tone as well. You're really getting higher end boutique-level gear for a great price.

What a beautiful looking amp. Sounds fantastic. How does the clean handle modulation effects?

I’ve got one of the little ones and it sounds good. You would think since it’s basically a toy version of the big amp that it would sound like a toy but it sounds really good. Laney makes great products.

the Tone is amazing, but the Head is TOO big and heavy for 20w when compared to countless options on the market today, like Marshall, friedman, bogner etc.
