Foreign credit cards now provide the Dollar Blue rate. Last month we had a two-week holiday in Argentina: BA, Ushuaia, El Calafate, and back to BA. We were informed by our tour guide for the Recoleta Cemetary that Visa pays the blue dollar rate. We had to pay by card to enter the Recoleta Cemetary as they don't accept cash. I used my Visa card and discovered that I was only charged GBP 4.74 entrance fee to the Recoleta Cemetery. I then started to use my Visa card and discovered that I was getting an exchange rate of AR$340 to 1 US$. Which is not too different from the current blue rate of AR$380 to 1 US$. We found lots of vegan restaurants and most other restaurants have at least a vegetarian option. We did not starve during our Argentine holiday! I'm planning a second visit to Argentina in October to check out Cordoba, Mendoza, and Salta as I'm looking for a place to retire in 2026.

Man, there was a place that got 5 stars from Nichole Post! No doubt, the most thorough guide to Northern Argentina! Blown away by the effort put into this. And seems like there's even more helpful info on the blog. Big ups! I'm ready to feel dirty all the time...

Hi Nicki! Thanks for that video, it's just great!
Just before the corona shit started i was 2 months in jujuy, salta y catamarca and completely fell in love with just everything! I want to go back and wonder if i can do it the same way again. I rented a car and often stayed in my carpa whenever i liked a place. Now i was woöd that aftet corona it has changed a lot, more controls and forbidden things ... would you know anything about "wild camping"?

Hi, Nicki, thank you so much for posting these videos on Salta and the North of Argentina! I'm planning my trip there right now, so these are super helpful. May I please have two questions for you:
1. when exactly did you go there and what was the weather like? I'm planning to be there in the last week of July, which is right in the middle of the winter, but I hope the temperatures will still be ok to visit the region.
2. how many days would you recommend to reserve for the Salta & Jujuy region? I will have 3 days there for sure but am considering extending it to 4 - is one day more worth it there?

I would be grateful for responses. Thank you so much in advance and apologies if these two topic were covered in your other videos, I'm only starting watching them now and I need to make some quick decisions on my flights.

I'll be going end June/July, is this a good time to visit? Based on the weather, I'd say yes, how are the crowds? Thank you for this very helpful vid!

Si soy argentina y la verdad que la odie compartida esta bien estudiada . Cuando van a Cafayate visiten bodega y hotel Piatelli, y reserven la experiencia del almuerzo de 5 pasos con la degustación de vinos. Imperdible!
