This was my first proper jazz 78rpm record I purchased when I was fourteen in April 1980 for 75p .It was played by Louis Armstrong and his hot five on Parlophone R448.At the time I was entirely alone listening to this kind of music, yet I can see that as my appreciation has grown over the decades I was the winner and everybody else were the losers
