INNOLFACT - Implementing Olfactory Precision Medicine
Показать описание
It is known that the loss of the sense of smell is an early symptom of neurodegenerative disease and that the intranasal pathway can be an advantageous alternative for the administration of drugs that modulate our brain activity.
Navarrabiomed leads the INNOLFACT project whose objective is to innovate in the early diagnosis of neurodegenerative diseases through the association between the olfactory system and cognitive functions. This initiative was approved by the Government of Navarra in the call for the realization of strategic R&D projects 2020-2022.
A consortium was created to implement the project made up of the institutions involved. The team leader is the Navarrabiomed Clinical Neuroproteomics Unit under the direction of Enrique Santamaría Martínez, the principal investigator (PI) and unit head. The other consortium members include professionals from the Navarrabiomed Geriatrics Unit, the Hospital Complex of Navarre (CHN), ADItech, the Center for Applied Medical Research (CIMA), Clínica Universidad de Navarra and Ojer Pharma laboratories.
