I saw somebody design a concept for a 4 segment display

2^7 is 128, but 3 of them are identical just shifted left/right, and 1 is blank, so we could 124 different symbols

How about a One segmented display with a single color changing bulb shining through seven different glass types of a 7 segment display that only transmit specific wavelengths and showing the provided "figures"
I think this would be colorfull but maybe the cheapest
Like white glowes brightest when purple light emitts somehow
