You can’t start the turning signal once you start spinning your steering wheel - say in a U-turn. Really bad design there. There is a reason why the signal stalk is normally designed as a standalone object that does not turn with the steering wheel. It is a safety feature that allows you to turn the turning signal on at any time even in the middle of a turn when you are spinning your steering wheel.
