It is remarkable how Florida State has collapsed this year. It is so high profile because they were projected as the league favorites. If this was a different team ( Duke, BC, or Syracuse) that imploded, no one would bat an eye. It is because of the high profile and the projected quality that this is so surprising. Clemson appeared to be the same in week one. Then, they seemed to realize that they were playing with house money. Dabo’s teams always respond well after a bad loss. They play tight until an opponent teaches them a lesson.
As a Clemson guy, I’m hoping that we win (this game)and continue to grow as a team.
Where does Florida State go from here (this season and beyond). My guess is the portal . I have to think that the portal may not be the way to have lasting success. If I was a high level recruit, I’m not sure that I’d go to a place that I’d always be competing against all the players in the portal.
Evaluation and development has always been the way.This looks like the way to avoid huge collapses.
