Minisforum UM690 Ryzen 9 6900HX 680M RDNA2 Review 1080p Gaming Plex. Is it the ultimate mini PC?

A release I've been waiting for. We finally see the AMD Ryzen 9 6900HX CPU's appearing in mini PC's. Today we test the Minisforum UM690 an upgrade over the UM590 which had the previous gen 5900HX which was a great 720p gaming PC. Have we finally achieved 1080p gaming on integrated graphics?

Would you mind retesting the UM690 with some constant GPU load. The RAM (32GB in my case) seems to reach 80C after 3-5 mins of GPU load resulting in heavy FPS drops.

Just drill out the rubber feet at the screw location. A small die cutter and mallet would do nicely.

It's interesting that your CPU temp never exceeded 72C - RobTech's unit hit 89C at 21C ambient! Mine maxes out at 83C at 19C ambient. I wonder if the application of the liquid metal produces a lot of variability from unit to unit?

I’m sorry if this is a dumb question, cause I’m not that computer savvy. But how do you get sound to external speakers on this? Or do I need a monitor with built in speakers? Like I say, sorry if that’s a stupid question. 👍

Will this work well for Premiere Pro and Adobe Audition?

My main workflow is audio podcast editing but sometimes I edit 720p-1080p video podcasts. I'm considering this because my current laptop is struggling (Ryzen 5 3550H + GTX 1650)

If I used a 100w PD usb power converter on the um690 would it supply enough watts since it draws almost 90w at max? Im trying to convert the bulky 19v power adapter and use this with USB PD charger that supplies 100w in the car for a car pc setup.
